Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, is set to represent Nigeria at the Miss World finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam, with a series of outfits designed to highlight her Nigerian heritage and Niger Delta roots.

The 26-year-old beauty queen is scheduled to take the stage on Saturday, September 5, as contestants from around the world compete for the Miss World crown. The finale is scheduled for 7pm Vietnam time.

Karibi-George has unveiled some of her looks ahead of the final, including an evening gown featuring Nigeria’s green and white colours.

According to reports, the design was created to represent the Nigerian flag while also incorporating elements that reflect her identity and roots.

The Nigerian representative’s wardrobe has formed part of her presentation throughout the Miss World Festival, with several outfits drawing attention to Nigerian culture and fashion.

Karibi-George, who is from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, represented Bayelsa State when she competed for the national title. She was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 in June after emerging from a field of finalists at the national pageant in Lagos. citeturn0news21turn0news25

Her participation in the global contest has also produced a major milestone for Nigeria.

Nigeria secures Top 40 place

Karibi-George recently won the Africa Top Model title at the ongoing Miss World competition.

The achievement automatically secured her place among the Top 40 contestants in the competition. She emerged ahead of representatives from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa in the continental Top Model contest.

The Top 40 selection includes contestants who advanced through various challenges and continental competitions.

Karibi-George had previously reached the African finalists in the Head-to-Head Challenge before securing the continental Top Model title.

Nigeria hopes for another Miss World crown

Karibi-George’s appearance at the finale comes 25 years after Agbani Darego became the first Nigerian and first indigenous African to win the Miss World title in 2001.

The Nigerian government has also urged citizens to support Karibi-George as she competes for the crown. The Federal Government described her participation as an opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s culture, talent and potential on the international stage.

With her place in the Top 40 already secured, attention now turns to the final stages of the competition and whether Karibi-George can become Nigeria’s second Miss World winner.
